Frequently Asked Questions

Is your business insured?

Yes! We are fully insured and ready to care for your hedges.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Payment is due upon completion of the work, at which point you can pay via cash or cheque in person, or via e-transfer once you have received your invoice.

Do I need to be home to receive my free estimate?

No, as long as you unlock any gates you may have on the pre arranged date, we can take a look at your hedges and email you your quote. We can also do the work without supervision if you are unable to be home.

How frequently do you recommend trimming?

A beautiful hedge cannot be had overnight, it takes years of consistent maintenance to achieve a dense, healthy hedge. We recommend trimming once a year to ensure your hedge looks the best it can.

Can I sign up for repeated yearly trimming?

Yes! We have many customers that choose to reserve a place in our calendar for the next season, eliminating the hassle of booking a trim every year. All you need to do is ask.

What time of year is best to trim my hedge?

There is no wrong time of year, however the optimal time may vary for each hedge. Exceptionally wide hedges can do better with a fall trim to help relieve snow loading. Otherwise timing is largely aesthetic, it’s time to trim when it looks like it needs a trim!

Should I fertilize my hedges?

Fertilizer is generally only necessary with newly planted hedges, we do not recommend fertilizing a mature hedge except in special cases.

Some areas of my hedge are sparse or stunted, what can I do?

Hedges need sunlight to thrive, if you have a section of your yard that receives less sunlight or has a large amount of tree cover, the hedges wont be as thick in that area. Although counterintuitive, repeated yearly trimming will help to thicken up areas that are stunted.
